Patient presented with chief complaint of high fever, diarrhea, bodyache, fatigue for the past 1 week. Patient’s prenatal history is not significant and is growing normally on the weight and age chart. Patient has no past medical history and is updated on the vaccinations.
Vitals:
BP: 125/80
Pulse: 81 bpm
Temperature: 101 F
Labs Ordered:
Labs were ordered for CBC, widal test
Lab results:
Labs reported patient to be positive for salmonella typhii i.e,typhoid
Diagnosis:
Patient was found to be positive for salmonella typhii i.e,typhoid. Patient was suggested to follow-up with paediatrician as soon as possible and start antibiotics. Mother was advised to give liquid diet to the child and avoid fast food. Follow-up as needed.
